Indira Gandhi is regarded as one of India’s most influential political personalities. As the first lady Prime Minister, she dealt with issues with an iron hand and became dreaded and respected, both at the same time. Today, India has a set perception about her as far as her political affairs are concerned, but there is hardly any insight into her personal affairs and deeds that were controversial and shocking.

Underneath all the glorified perception, there was a side to Indira Gandhi that was unbecoming and undignified. Her growing up years were mostly spent alone and unsupervised since Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru was mostly travelling on political commitments and mother suffered from constant bout of illness.

Indira Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru

The death of Sanjiv Gandhi in a helicopter crash remains shrouded in mystery, but there are plausible published theories by historians that suggest foul play.

There is no denying that Sanjay Gandhi was climbing the popularity charts at the rate of knots. Indira Gandhi, who was becoming obsessed with authority, was said to have become insecure and felt threatened by her own blood. Sanjay Gandhi often tried to blackmail Indira Gandhi about Mohammad Yunus, who was Sanjay’s father. Sanjay Gandhi despised Muslims and that scared Indira Gandhi, who quickly calculated that Sanjay’s agenda could affect the muslim vote bank… The accident was unexplainable. It was a new machine and it nosedived to a crash without exploding. This happens only when there is no suffiecient fuel. The flight register, however, showed that the fuel tank was full before take off. Indira Gandhi, using her influence of PM’s office, stonewalled any inquiry..

When the news of Sanjay Gandhi’s death reached Indira Gandhi, her first question was ‘Where are his keys and his wristwatch?’ Now, why would she ask that question? There was no pain at hearing the news of the death of her elder son, there was only concern of a different kind. There were some deep secrets about the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty in those objects.
Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi
Indira Gandhi had a weakness for well-dressed, sophisticated men.

It is not a crime, but is it morally right to indulge in shady behavior while occupying the Prime Minister’s office? Just like her father, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi too was involved in plenty of affairs. Her first notable link-up was with her German teacher at Shantiniketan. Her next affair was with M.O. Mathai, father’s secretary. Later, she is alleged to have had an affair with her yoga teacher, Dhirendra Brahmachari. Indira had a weakness for smart, intelligent and well-dressed men. Millions of women do. She disregarded the gravity of her office and allowed herself to be distracted by wicked thoughts. Dinesh Singh, who was a foreign minister was yet another man in Indira’s life.

In fact, it is widely known that Sanjay Gandhi was not the son of Feroz Gandhi. He was the son of another Muslim gentleman named Mohammad Yunus.

The mastermind behind ‘Blue Star Operation’

Operation Blue Star was a military operation which was ordered by Indira Gandhi to remove Sikh militants, who were gathering weapons in Golden Temple in Amritsar to protect the Golden Temple, in order to establish control over it. Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers persuaded people to follow the rules and protect Amritsar. The whole operation took place to eradicate the control of Sikhism and capture the control on Amritsar.  This operation killed more than 12000 people in Golden Temple and other Gurudwaras. Thousands of innocent visiting pilgrims and temple workers lost their lives in a sacred place of worship. Indira Gandhi reflected zero sensitivity to the damage, which later led to her death.

Indira Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru

Her two body guards, Satwanta Singh and Beant Singh, killed Indira Gandhi because of her decision to attack the Golden Temple and Sikh Community. Nobody can justify the action, it was a terrorist act and was dealt with accordingly, but one must never forget the root cause.

The book “The Life of Indira Nehru Gandhi” (ISBN: 9780007259304) by Katherine Frank sheds light on some of Indira Gandhi’s other love affairs.

Editor’s note: Indira Gandhi is India’s most popular Prime Minister till date. Her life as a politician, husband, wife and son has attracted global attention. A lot has already been written  about India’s first lady Prime Minister, but there several less-talked about aspects, dark truths that we tend to ignore because at a sub-conscious level, we don’t feel the need to disturb our established feelings. Voice of Nation believes otherwise. It believes truth, or the perception of it, must be brought out. We cannot suppress the truth on the pretext that it will hurt some people.  Also, if there is no legitimacy to the perception and facts, the Gandhi family must ensure it comes out and denies all charges. Otherwise, everything could be considered true.

  1. Its a well known fact that Attack on Golden Temple was ordered and Planned by British Govt 6 months prior to the attack as per the declassified UK Documents which were disclosed by Present British Prime Minister in the UK Parliament , Indira khan was dancing to the tunes of British Masters just like her father was, when will u update urself on the issue?

  2. How many times will she be killed with repetition of falsehoods ? If this is an attempt to erase her memory it is indeed a crude attempt. A lady whom Atal Behari Vajpayee praised as Durga after Bangladesh operation is painted now in black. This may at best influence some in their early twenties but not older people who have seen the work of ex.PM. Smt. IG.Can the present government stand upto blackmail by Americans the way she did ? B. Ganga Raju Hyderabad

  3. If the Voice of Nation’s perception of truth is to be believed, it should stand on firmer ground. Your research should provide credible evidences both direct and circumstantial. Just to say Sanjay’s plane crashed as it is out of fuel and as Indira Gandhi looked for his keys and wristwatch by themselves do not constitute any acceptable evidence to conclude that Indira Gandhi plotted her sons’s murder.

  4. omg …..common idiots the main reason behind the death of sanjay gandhi was tat he was torturing his mother for power during the emergency if u guys had read the biography of feild marshal manik shaw u would hav known it ,….yes indira gandhi oly killed him because he went over board n started missusing the power ….during emergency all the official work was done by sanjay gandhi in the pm’s house instead of pmo …plus he had it coming ..secondly talking trash abt someone like indira gandhi is jus for publicity …wat ever u hav writen in this article is nothing but popular rumars and not facts

  5. What a foolish article. Sanjay gandhi was not Indira’s elder son. The writer is so much obsessed to criticise Indira Gandhi that he ia unaware of his own basic knowledge of Nahru family!!! Must be a BJP person!!!!

  6. we all believe that our history after independence have some nooks and faults, but recently distortion of history and personal maligning has been a fashion. I earnestly request all from refraining from encouraging and sharing this type of baseless and childish writings. The voice of the nation is mostly interested in mud slinging a specific family who governed our country mostly after Independence. The voters of our country is not such a fool as some believe, ie, Mrs Ghandhi was thrown out of power when she tried to establish autocratic rule and later three more time the so called Cong. led Govt. has been shown the opposition chair. Thus this type of article are not required to de-glorify them. If this type of article have present Govt. backings then they are also not doing any good for themselves.

  7. Alll said and done, will anybody clarify as to why facts were suppressed and no equiry done to reveal facts. This gives rise to speculation and rumours start floating in air. This will continue till the events are transperant.

  8. there are a lot of facts in this world which we do not know and do not want to know.for example do we know of what disease Pandit Nehru died? better we dont try to to know those things.do we know how S.P Mukergy died.Who killed Deendayal Upadyaya? When did subash chandra bose die?

  9. These are article which was published originaly and indra gandhi ban the whole book.

Greek mythology Aphrodite: Indira Gandhi was the grand seductress

Rukun Advani|(Rukun Advani is the author of Beethoven Among the Cows and runs Permanent Black, a publishing company in New Delhi.”)
It is now evident the Grand seductress of all was Mrs. Indira Gandhi who as part of her religious Brahman training was adept at the art of the Kama Sutra. Indira used her training to seduce many men. Like father like daughter:
Sex Life of Nehru: Menege De Trios:-Tryst with Homosexuality:-Love triangle Edwina, Nehru and Lord Mountbatten changed history
After all it is in the grand tradition as described in the Mahabharta. Draupathi in the story had 5 husbands. As in Braham temple custom, did the Nehrus get formal training in the art of sex and seduction? Certainly seems like it. Nehru seduced bother Edwina and Lord Mountbatten and his daughter Mrs. Gandhi used sex to her advantage and to move up the corridors of power.
Indira Gandhi was a tough cookie coming from a very high profile family in India. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto said that Indira Gandhi was not a very good student at Berkley. By all accounts circulating in the media Mrs Indira Gandhi had a list of lovers. There are the known ones:
    1) “Remington Randy” her father’s typist: Mathai Merely (M. O. Mathai author of “Reminiscences of the Nehru Age“ and “My Days With Nehru”, 1979)
    2) Her Yoga Teacher: Dhirendra Brahmachari
    3) The Foreign Minister: Sardar Swaran Singh
    4) Dhinesh Singh
    5) Mohammad Yunus author of the book, ‘Persons, Passions & Politics’
    6) Frank Oberdorf (A German teacher on the staff at Santiniketan) The new biography is indeed a remarkable story of the woman in Indira, controversially focusing on her intimate side—from her first love, a German teacher at Shantiniketan, to her long pre-marital relationship with Feroze Gandhi and then Mathai, Dinesh Singh and Dhirendra Brahmachari.
To mold Indira according to his aspirations, Nehru sent the young Indira to Shantiniketan, the school of the great poet, Tagore. Indira was expelled from the school at Shantiniketan by Tagor for her “wrong” habbits. Santiniketan is a small town near Bolpur in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, India, approximately 180 kilometers north of Kolkata. It was made famous by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The town housed Visva-Bharati which became a Central University in 1951. Indira Gandhi was one of its more illustrious students and was known for her after hour activities at the University.

Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) was known as a feisty young woman and a Uber-Hyper leader. Indira Gandhi was the only child of Kamla and Jawaharlal Nehru. The young Indira was found in bed with her German Teacher at Shantineketan–Frank Oberdorf. She always had a big libido, probably inherited from her father who had a line of affairs, the most famous with Un-Lady Edwina Mountbatten. Stanley Wolpert and other have provided proof that Jawaharlal Nehru was gay and he consorted with the gay Viceroy of India Lord Mountbatten. (Nehur’s tyrst with homosexuality. Nehru dated both Ediwina, and Lord Mountbatten.Menage de trois impacted independence).
Indira had many lovers when she was young.

  10. Sanjay was not eldest but younger and he died in plan crash not helicopter while doing acrobatics and for Operation Blue star was due to Bindranwale no state tolrate state within state. And we are stillpaying the price of Bhindranwales deeds.

  11. These kinds of malicious propaganda against the Iron Lady of India won’t tarnish her image at all These dirty minds who enjoy this kinds of stories will have to be given a resounding slap They are presenting such lies in the guise of publishing recondite incidents They and those who enjoy the story might be having erectile dysfunction So they get catharsis having abused powerful personalities

  12. Sanjay Gandhi died in a GLIDER crash and THE GLIDERS DON’T HAVE A FUEL TANK. Most of the article is utter rubish with flashes of some facts. I am apolitical and whatever may have been the reasons for the rise of an uneducated Bhinderwala ,the Sikhs should have never fallen in the trap set by the ISI of Pakistan. Now it is no secret that Zia avenged Siachen disaster by creating Punjab problem leading to the death of the Indian PM. Indians should maintain guard against the incompetent enemy in the battle-field but smart at creating inhouse problems through bribery and corruption. Unrest in Kashmir is prime example as Congress never understood the reason behind officially conducted ISI meetings with Huriyat Leaders in Pakistan Embassy at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi. A National shame brought in by Congress.

  13. Biggest lie is 12,000 Sikhs were killed duing operation Blue Star. Utter rubish to put a wedge between Hindus and Sikhs. A Paki propaganda. It is like 2,000 Muslims were masacred in Gujarat. The riots were initiated by Muslims by burning Hindu Karsevaks ina train alive at Godara. Riots followed where 667 Muslims and 265 Hindus died. Forget about Pakistan even the Indian opposition leaders maintain the Pakistan’s line for political gains. Shame.

  14. Late Mrs Indra Gandh was the Prime Minister of this great nation. indra Gandhi was elected by indian people through elections. Indian people can not choose a leader that is also at the level of Prime Minister who has no character. All these stories have no proof and it is just to defame India and its people
